This major arterial is being renovated with over $7,000,000
in construction funds. RBA Engineers is providing
lighting design, utility interface, and the illumination
for some side streets. Chinook Avenue intersection
lighting was designed and built.
- DEBARR ROAD REPAVEMENT - AIRPORT HEIGHTS
TO MULDOON Anchorage, Alaska

At each of five intersections, design of the detector
loops, signal control, conduits, and load center were
done by RBA Engineers. All utility relocations related
to road widening also handled by RBA Engineers.

the project.
- LAKE OTIS STREET LIGHTING, Anchorage,
Alaska
Street lighting designs, including load centers, were
provided for East 72nd, East 80th, and East 84th Avenues
off from Lake Otis Parkway. Load centers and thaw
wires were included.
- CHESTER CREEK LOAD CENTERS, Anchorage,
Alaska
Various thaw wires and load centers were provided
for this Public Works project, involving an underpass
for "C" Street.
- STREET ILLUMINATION IMPROVEMENTS,
Anchorage, Alaska
Municipality of Anchorage As prime consultant, RBA
Engineers provided engineering design services for
the installation of roadway lighting including luminaire
poles and underground relocation of associated circuitry
and control for about 50 street blocks at various
locations in Anchorage. The scope also included design
modifications to the remaining existing overhead utility
distribution system. Construction cost $600,000.

Design of illumination along existing and proposed
roadway and at intersection with International Airport
Road and Potter Drive. Extends from Alaska Railroad
crossing to Tudor Road.

This lighting project extends from Muldoon Road to
Hiland Drive Overpass on the Glenn Highway and includes
high-rise lighting at all intersections. A moose counter
was a special project requirement.

This street lighting project included intersection
lighting west of Old Seward Highway to Lake Otis Parkway.

The firm provided inspection services during construction
for projects in West Anchorage and Eagle River.
- INGRA STREET UPGRADES, Anchorage,
Alaska
Beginning with a design/study report, RBA Engineers
assisted with lighting, signalization and utility
relocations for the (4) lane roadway.
- TWIN HILLS AIRPORT LIGHTING, Twin
Hills, Alaska
RBA Engineers was responsible for the runway and taxiway
lighting for this rural airport. A small storage building
was relocated at the airstrip, and the City power
line was modified to service the new loads.
- PARKS HIGHWAY, MP 44-57, Wasilla,
Alaska
RBA Engineers engineered the traffic recorders, detector
loops, and load centers for this highway project.
- EAGLE RIVER ROAD INSPECTIONS, Eagle
River, Alaska
RBA conducted the electrical inspections for all the
lighting and signalization work. Similar services
were also provided for West Anchorage roadways.
- JUNEAU-GLACIER HIGHWAY, Juneau,

Two bus pull-outs and highway illumination was designed
for this major arterial in Juneau.
- STERLING HIGHWAY MP.269-274, Homer,
Alaska
RBA Engineers was responsible for all the illumination
design inspections covering 5 miles of the highway
near Homer.
- ABBOTT ROAD ILLUMINATION, Anchorage,
Alaska
As a subconsultant, RBA Engineers coordinated utility
relocation, illumination, and signalization for this
road in Anchorage.
- (3) WALMART STORES PARKING LOT ILLUMINATION
Anchorage/Eagle River, Alaska
For all the Walmart Stores in South Central Alaska,
RBA Engineers designed the lighting for the two-acre
parking lots. In addition, 32nd and 33rd Streets illumination
and "A" Street access signals were also
engineered.
- ARCTIC BLVD. EXTENSION, Raspberry
to Dimond, Anchorage, Alaska
This project included two traffic signals, roadway
lighting, bus pullout, school zone signs, and a small
car parking lot near Campbell Creek. Beginning with
a design/study report, RBA Engineers prepared plans,
specifications, and cost estimates.
- DeBARR ROAD REPAVEMENT, Bragaw
to Muldoon Road Anchorage, Alaska
Major electrical facilities were impacted during this
repavement project. RBA Engineers assisted in relocation
of transformers and load centers. Several traffic
signals were modified. The illumination for DeBarr
Road was checked via a computer program and upgraded
where necessary.
